“Never Far from the Nest” The bald eagle is probably my favorite bird of prey to paint. I made a trip to Guntersville, AL to view this one in the wild and take photos. I love the research that goes into a painting and it’s a big part of why I paint wildlife. I named this painting “Never Far from the Nest” because we watched this eagle for most of a day and although he left several times, probably to hunt, he never went very far and was always aware of what was going on at the nest, where the female and babies were. Bald Eagles are an awesome sight to see in the wild.
